I woke up this morning with this song in my head.

Its one of my “wedding” songs, so for me it is joyful and uplifting. It makes me smile.

For the last couple of days, I have found myself filled with gratitude for many things. I am not sure what has triggered this. Sure, every night just before going to sleep, I spend a few minutes thinking about what I am grateful for, but recently it has swelled into something bigger and more rounded. Something beautiful.

Gratitude colours my world with a golden glow, filling me with love and other beautiful feelings.

I have much harmony in my life, and I feel very blessed.

That does not mean that my life is “perfect”. Or that I have everything I want. But I know now that I always have everything I need. I choose to see the best in people. I choose to trust rather than look for things to distrust. To focus on the current moment instead of reliving past hurts and misdemeanours. I forgive easily, without thinking about it too much. I remember that everybody is doing the best they can.

It also does not mean that I never get caught up in my thinking. Thought is part of the human experience. There are times when I forget and find myself sitting in judgement. But I remember faster now, and I forgive myself more quickly than I used to. And others too.

Life is a gift. It IS real and it is good. It does warm you heart just like it should.

I am grateful.

Especially for you reading this, and everyone in my life.

And my husband Nigel – who, when I just reminded him that we are all made of stardust, simply nodded, and smiled at his mad and sometimes a little eccentric wife. See…built to last!
